Number 6: 8 Seconds
This movie was so sad.. Yes.. sad. I couldn't get into it at the beginning(guys on bulls make me a nervous wreck and that is all I saw) and so about half way through I really started watching it. Lane I have to say was a cutie pie, but had to be the biggest airhead I have ever seen/watched/heard of whatever you call it. He had Elsie who a) dropped out of college for him b) traveled all around the country for him c) lived in a trailer for him. Could he not see that she was head over hills for him? I hate that it took both of them cheating on each other to realize what they had, and how it all went wrong. I'm glad that they ended up getting back together, and all.. let me just stop there. But it was soo sad how he got killed and how he didn't get to build her that house in the pasture. My heart literally drops on thinking about that.

Did you know that 8 seconds was based on a true story? Lane Frost was a real person. The movie is based on his life. Its part fact, and part fiction.
ReplyDeleteHere's the truth about the 'cheating'
Lane and Kellie separated for a brief time in 1988. It was not because of "cheating".
Lane's traveling had taken a toll on their marriage.
For a time, it looked like they were going to divorce.
But their love was stronger, and they reunited.
Kellie was there to see Lane win the "Challenge of the Champions" over Red Rock in July, 1988.
Their last year together was their happiest, Lane's Mom believes.
They had plans to buy land and build a ranch at the time of Lane's death in Cheyenne.
There also is no person named "Martin Hudson".
You can read about it here: http://www.lanefrost.com/8seconds.htm
I wish you could "like" comments, but thanks. I am about to watch The Patriot.. Is it sad?
